College: Expectation vs. Reality

When you're a senior in high school and you start to apply for college, you think, "OMG, I can't wait to get away from my parents and be able to hang out all the time." That's somewhat along the lines of what I thought college was going to be like. Was I wrong? Absolutely. I thought I would be able to go to class during the week and then on weekends I could party my life away, but with the major I chose I was proven wrong quickly. Freshmen year I would go to parties every weekend but those parties soon turned into late night study sessions either in the library or from the comfort of my bed.

Now I'm not saying college doesn't have it's highlights because it definitely does. I've made lifelong friendships that I wouldn't change for the world. I've gotten a great education in the field that I want to go into after I graduate and I couldn't be prouder of how far I've come. Now that it's my spring semester of senior year and everything is coming to an end, it's a little bittersweet. But, I can't wait to see what's waiting for me after graduation.
